Strength Training:

Our A-Team personal trainers use a mix of body weight exercises, resistance training, and a concept called progressive overload - essentially a structured increasing of the difficulty of exercises over time - to help you build strength, confidence, and the ability to move well as you move through life.

Strength training can be intimidating if you’ve never learned how it works or why it’s so important!

Aside from the aesthetic benefits, strength training also promotes:

- Higher bone density

- Higher resting calorie burn

- Fat loss

- Improved body mechanics

- Injury prevention

- Flexibility, stability, and balance

The movements you’ll learn with our personal trainers mimic everyday movements so not only will you learn to love lifting weights in the gym, but you’ll also gain a deep understanding of their application to your everyday life.

Mobility:

Mobility is your first line of defense against injury and pain from stiffness.

Flexibility and joint range of motion determine your overall mobility. And over time, we actually start to experience a natural decrease in our flexibility. That whole “use it or lose it” notion rings true in this case.

In fact, almost 50% of Americans have a lower back condition by the time they reach 50 and this is largely due to the loss of mobility.

So our goal is to help you stay mobile, stay flexible, and keep you moving through intentional exercises, stretching, and mobility education.

We’ll use a combination of myofascial release and dynamic & static stretching techniques to keep your body moving at full range of motion pain free!

CONDITIONING:

The benefits of conditioning exercises run deep including a decreased risk of chronic disease, weight management, increased oxygen flow to your muscles, and ability to participate in the everyday activities you love!

Conditioning exercises are split into two categories: Anaerobic and Aerobic.

Anaerobic exercises increase speed, power, and muscles mass. These movements achieve a high calorie burn and they’re performed in quick bursts with periods of rest in between.

Common anaerobic exercises include plyometrics (jumping), interval training, isometrics (build up of mechanical tension), and sprints.

Aerobic exercises are sustained movements that increase endurance and cardiovascular capacity. Some typical exercises include running cycling, and swimming.

Everybody is different so A-Team trainers will help you find the optimal combination of anaerobic and aerobic exercises that work best for YOU!

BALANCE & STABILITY:

Proprioception - the body’s ability to balance - decreases with age but it can be maintained effectively through intentional exercises. In fact, one in three people over the age of 65 experience a bad fall.

Balance and stability are incredibly important for injury prevention and they give you the ability to continue to progress in other areas of your fitness journey.

A-Team trainers will incorporate training on unstable surfaces to help activate your stabilizing and trunk muscles that may get neglected with other forms of training.

We’ll help you build a strong foundation of balance that you can take with your well into your golden years.

NUTRITION:

Living a healthy lifestyle is fueled by what you put into your body.

There are some crazy diets out there that focus primarily on aesthetics, but they neglect your internal health, your energy levels, and your ability to sustain them throughout your life.

At A-Team we focus on whole foods, flexibility, the enjoyment of food, and properly fueling yourself for all of life’s daily activity!

When you train with us in person 3x/week or more, nutrition coaching is included in your personal training package.

If you train less than 3x/week with A-Team, you can add nutrition to your package for $100/month.
